Guinness World Record: Subair Enitan Completes 58-Hour Wash-A-Thon


A Student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Subair Enitan, has completed the Wash-a-ton with 58 hours, surpassing the initial 50-hour target, and setting a record for the longest hours of washing.

Enitan is a 200-level student of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University. She is also a model, an actor, and a chanter.

The Wash-a-ton event, which took place at the Student Union Building Car park of the university, witnessed enthusiastic OAU students and other supporters who jubilantly cheered on the 200-level Linguistics student for her extraordinary feat. 

The extraordinary attempt was also transmitted on her official Instagram handle @enitan_eyinjueledumare and @oauwashaton.

The atmosphere was electric as students collectively celebrated Enitan's endurance and determination, having surpassed her initial goal. 

Originally scheduled to conclude around 3 pm on Sunday 26th November 2023, Enitan's washing marathon has not only met but exceeded expectations, setting the stage for a potential world record.

The Wash-a-ton, proudly sponsored by Viva Plus and Great Ife Student Union commenced on Friday 24th November, 2023 around 1 pm. Enitan successfully reached her 50-hour target by Sunday afternoon, getting admiration and support from her fellow students.

The anticipation now revolves around the certification process, poised to affirm her status as the world record holder for the longest uninterrupted washing hours by an individual.

If certified after the designated hour, Subair Enitan will etch her name in history as a testament to resilience and achievement, embodying the spirit of dedication that defines OAU's student community.
